Permit Status allows you to view the status of current and previously issued permits. You may find information by searching by Permit Number or Address.

Once registered you may login and request an inspection for your permits.

Apply Online for Permit

Apply for a permit online. Simple permits that do not require a formal review process can be easily applied and paid for online.

Please Note: Only Single Family Plumbing, Mechanical, Re-Roof Permits and Critical Areas are available for purchase online.  Residential Solar/Photovoltaic are now available online.

How to Apply for an Online Permit

You can apply, purchase, and have permits issued via e-mail and printed on your own printer.  It takes minutes to apply and permits are typically returned within hours.

Who can apply?

The "property owner", which is the building owner or home owner, or a Washington State Licensed contractor.  You must first create an online account before you can apply for permits.

Type of permits available

The following permits are available for single family projects only.

  • Re-Roof permits for replacement of existing roof material and the replacement or addition of roof sheathing.
  • Plumbing permits for gas and electric water heaters, repair of water service lines, gas piping, replacement of water or waste piping within the house. (Permits for domestic-style water heaters in commercial buildings are also available online.)
  • Mechanical permits for gas and electric furnaces, fireplaces, heat pumps and AC units.

All work is subject to field inspection by the City Building Inspector.  The City does not issue electrical permits.  Contact State Labor and Industries for electrical permit information.  Have the electrical permit and inspection approvals on-site for the Building Inspector at time of inspection.
